What animals appear right under your nose?

Animals join us in our lives, even appearing right under our noses, for a number of reasons.  To give us a message or to bring us strength.

TedBelieve it or not, we all have had animals with us from birth.  Here is my Teddy Bear that was given to me so when I was a baby, a long time ago.  He is in good nick and will one day be an antique!

Juvenile white bellied sea eagleThe other day I was driving to the supermarket and I saw a juvenile white bellied sea eagle.  You cant miss a big bird like that.

They will either catch your eye in real life, or appear in a paper or magazine your reading and even on TV programs you might be watching.

The point is they are right under your nose and you have noticed them.  So what does that mean?  It means they have a message to tell you. Let me tell you how do you work that out.

You can buy books that tell you about animal meanings, or you can read my ‘animal message of the week’ on my Sparkle Connection facebook page.  My best tip and the easiest one is:

  • Think about what the animal means to you.
  • Consider what were you thinking about as you noticed the animal, the animal can be confirming your thoughts.
  • Lastly what was the animal doing, what does that mean to you.

Animal right under your noseAnimals journey with us everyday, you don’t have to look far to notice them, they will appear right under your nose.

Do you see what is and what else it is?

You might have heard people say, ‘what you see is what you get’.  What I have learnt is there is so much more to see than just what is on the surface.

Tribal cultures talk about there being ‘spirit’ in all living things.  In the clouds, animals, trees, water and stones etc.  I subscribe to this belief too.

So what does that have to do with seeing what is and what else it is?

When I see a bird, I see the bird, but then I might see other things.

Take a look at some of these photos I have taken and I will share what I see and what else it is.

Firstly I see a magpie, then I see a whale (on it’s wing)

I see a stone, then I see a man who is like a coyote with a buffalo headdress

I see a palm frond, then I see a native American headdress, a porcupine and a swordfish

I see a cloud, then I see a Pheonix rising from the ashes.

The act of firstly seeing one thing and then seeing something else as well, is called scrying.  As spirit is in every living thing, that is why this occurs and that is how a spiritual message is given to you.  Spiritual messages will appear in all things, you just have to see what is and then really see what else it is, so you can get the message.

It is a great way to get you to think laterally and outside the square.  Sometimes taking pictures of things help you to really see it later.

Why not try it today, go out and look at things, really look at all things.  See what messages are about for you.

There’s are bear in there.

Is there a bear in there and a bear in you?

There’s a bear in there

There are periods of our lives where we enter a cave and we go into the dark.

Pondering your life

It is a place of introspection, a place where we ponder our lives and look at what we are here to do.

Western society tells us we should be, getting going in our lives, moving on, achieving something and being successful.

Tribal cultures tell us that there are times we need to be like the bear.  Hibernate for the winter, nurture ourselves and restore ourselves.

Many people enter a time of hibernation, but they fight it and back out.  They might say ‘it is not what they should be doing’.  So they push on with their lives.  The push through depression, feeling lost, alone and unsatisfied.

Follow your instincts

I suggest we recognize the “bear” times in our lives and be okay with being in the cave.  It is restorative time.  A time to cleanse, to nurture, to be with yourself and your thoughts.

Wisdom within

In the darkness you will become a new you, a you that does not even look like you.

Wisdom within

In the darkness you will find yourself and your inner wisdom.

Just coming out of the cave, love Tracy xx

Do you swing both ways?

As we get older in life, we have habitual ways of operating in our lives that appear to work for us.  We might become successful and be rewarded for those behaviours.

Are they really working for you?

I find that sometimes those ways of behaving in life for success, are a bit like being on a swing and being suspended up one end, for ages.  You cannot sustain this position long term.   However in life you think you can and you do.

When I was in the corporate world I was pursuing the corporate ladder.  I was driven, determined, I got the work done and was rewarded for it.  Little did a I realise that this state of being wasn’t working for me on many other levels.

I was suspended.

In fact I was defying gravity.  When you defy gravity and the natural laws, it means things go out of balance.

If you have been stuck out one way in your life, the only place you are going to go, is back the other way just as far.

For me, it was, drive my life, drive my life, drive my life.  When I swung the other way in my life, it became, rest, rest, rest.  That really was a shock to me.  I didnt realise that I was fighting the laws of phsyics.  You swing one way so far, you have to swing back the other way as far.

This will continue to happen in your life, until you hit an equalibrium point, which is balance.

My best advice is this, recognise how far your are swinging out in your life and then choose not to stay their too long because the consequences are, you are going to swing the other way just as far, until you come into the equalibrium point of life.

Enjoy the swings of life, but stop hanging around out there!!

Are all your bits together?

Sometimes different aspects of ourselves decide to do their own thing in our lives, taking us out of balance.

What does that mean?

You might have an ‘organized part’ of you that loves to get the jobs done, tick off the lists , plans, organizes and does.

There might be another part of you that is the a “play part”, who loves to have fun, play jokes, jump in puddles walk barefoot, be free as a bird.

Then there might be a ‘fearful part’ of you that worries about life, what people might think or who doubts their abilities.

We all have different aspects within us.  They all support us when in balance, but when one part takes over and is driving your bus their way, it can become uncomfortable and unhealthy.  You might even get a headache or feel sick.

So what do you do about it?

You need to have a ‘get together’ with all your parts – a parts party!

They need to introduce themselves and share their strengths – what they do for you.  They need to listen to each other, to hear what the other parts strengths are and what they do for you.

When that happens the integration begins.  As life goes on for you, each part can advise and guide you.  Then you can make the a balanced decision in how you act and react in each moment.

Let me introduce you to my 3 parts.

Shaman Tracy – wise seer and healer who works with nature

Earth Tracy – the physical me that lives in this natural world

Free Tracy – the young free girl in me that likes to have fun and be in touch with nature

We are learning to work together in balance…..you can do it too.

Lost – are the answers in the forest, the trees or the leaves?

There are times in our lives where we can feel lost. We can ask for help from our friends and special loved ones and they help us to find out where we are.

But there are also times when we can ask for help when we are lost and it feels like we are in the forest.  We can become so overwhelmed that now the only thing we see are the leaves.

Getting bogged down in the detail of situations can put you into a place that is not useful.

There is a way out  and you can find clarity.   Lets fly like the eagle and look at the forest.

The forest is like a map.

Maps are great because they give you the overview of a place. An in-car navigator can direct you down streets which are the leaves of the forest and direct from where you are to where you want to go.  Remember though the in-car navigator is still looking at the world from the overview, they are still looking at the forest.  They have zoomed in for your next step.

There can also be times we might be looking at the something in our life that is 6 months down the track and we dont know how we are going to get there.  In the forest that would be the trees.  But the route from where you are, to where you want to be is unclear.  Again it is about looking at your situation from the forest perspective and finding a track from where you are, to where you want to go.

Navigate through life, using the forest, the trees and the leaves because all aspects help us to move forward in balance and there is beauty and learning in really seeing the forest, the trees and the leaves.

Is it easier to have an instant garden than to grow your own?

How many of us want things now?

I know I do at certain times in my life, especially when I am tired, sick of myself or impatient.

I was given an opportunity to do something this week, that was really important and worthwhile.  I would have been really pushed to get it done in the time frame in a quality way.   I was guided to I look at the situation this way.

Is it easier to have an instant garden or to grow your own from seedlings?

When people build a house they get two options, they can either get a landscaper in and do an instant garden or they do it themselves.  If they are impatient and they want their house completely done, they might pick the landscaper.  He/ She would come in, put in mature plants, grass paving etc and their garden could look like it has been there for 20 years.

What happens though, is that instant garden dies off after about a week, even just a little. Looks great for a couple of days but the garden doesn’t have the strength in its foundation. It could  be sustained, but it takes a lot of tending.

So should you take the time to plant your garden from seedlings, giving them time to grow roots, to grow with the sun and truly embed themselves in your soil?

With my situation I decided to take the time, plant the seedlings and not be rushed.  I want strength in my foundations and create something that will last.

What do you choose you in your life?

To live your truth takes strength and courage.

Lately my life has been letting me see my truth, in black and white.

It is funny how we can be far easier on others than ourselves.  I find it is easy to see other peoples truth, what is going on in their lives.  I can chat comfortably with them and give them a gentle prod to help them see what is happening. But when it comes to myself, I am harsh, unforgiving and I hold myself to a higher standard.

We went camping for the last 4 days. I find camping a great place to reconnect with mother earth, the animals and the elements.

We were watching the Osprey fishing for his daily meals.  Its quite windy where we were, so the Osprey could hold itself in the wind without much flying required.

I noticed small movements in his tail feathers when he wanted to go forward or a flattening and spreading of his tail feathers to stay put.

He dove down to into the water and grabbed a fish, came out slightly but then back down into the water.

I watched in amazement at first, as I thought he was adjusting his talons to keep a hold of the fish, but this took too long.  My amazement turned to horror, as wave after wave washed over him.  I thought he was going to drown.  I started to say to my husband, should we go in and save him.

But after a while, he flew out of the water and shook his feathers off, with no fish.

What was the truth, how did he stay in the water that long and survive?

As a shaman, nature and animals will represent messages from Great Spirit.  So I looked at that situation and thought what was the message for me?  If the Opsrey represented a part of me, was I seeing the truth of my life?

  • Does the Osprey catch every fish it goes for? No
  • Do I expect to catch every fish I go for? Yes
  • Do I dive into life with high expectations?  Yes
  • Do I expect things to be successful? Yes
  • Do I flounder around in the waves when things don’t go right?  Yes
  • Was the Osprey floundering around in the waves?  No I don’t think so
  • Do I emotionally stay in those situations too long? Yes
  • Did the Osprey stay in the water too long? No
  • Am I able to get myself out of situations and learn from them? Yes
  • Do I see all aspects of truth in my life? No – my expectations hide the truth from me.
  • Does the Osprey learn from not catching the fish? Yes and I learn from my mistakes and I have a lifetime to do that.

It takes strength and courage to see your truth.

Be gentle on yourself when catching the fish in your life, because you wont catch every fish and you will learn and grow.

Look at the world differently

As you know John and I like to go to visit Lone Pine Sanctuary in Brisbane.   We find it rejuvenating to go, visit the animals and see the bird of prey show.

As we were walking around looking at the animals I noticed some unusual behaviours.

Firstly the emu walked putting his head on an unusual angle to look at the ground.

Secondly the joey in the kangaroo’s mothers pouch had his head on an unusal angle to look at the ground

Thirdly the Cassowary put his head on an usual angle to look at the ground, similar to that of the emu.

I began thinking as I ate my packed lunch and sipped my tea, what were the animals trying to tell me?  If I put myself in their shoes (shapeshifted) and looked at the world as they had, they were telling me to look at life differently.

By looking at the world differently, new opportunities can be seen, new wisdom can be gained and old ways of habitually seeing things are gone.  So I began to see my world differently and  the potentiality of that is extraordinary.

Messages are everywhere in your life, it is just a matter of noticing them and gaining the wisdom from them.

Are you caught in the fridge?

I went to make fresh mint tea this morning.   I got the mint out of the fridge and began picking the leaves for the tea pot.  Surprisingly a little green frog fell out of the bunch of mint.  As I looked at his lifeless body, I felt quite devastated that this poor little frog had come to its end in my fridge in the bunch of mint.

I began planning where I could lay him rest.  A glimmer of life caught my eye, his arm moved.  I turned him over, got some water and took him out to my pot plant garden.   I put some water on the garden and went to place him down.  He became quite alive.  Excited at the thought he had been reborn or at least revived, I put him down in the garden where he promptly decided to get out of the pot and go somewhere else.

It got me thinking about his situation:

  • Did the frog choose to go into the mint paddock?
  • Did the frog accidently get caught in the mint being picked?
  • Did the frog choose his circumstances and could he choose to get out of them?

Sometimes we choose the circumstances we find ourselves in life.  Sometimes life chooses the circumstances we find ourselves in.  Sometimes we need a new perspective to get out of both.

Circumstances where we might feel trapped, shut down or tired, are times for reflection about:

  • who we are
  • why we are here
  • what do we need to do

It about quietly taking the time to absorb those lessons so that we learn and grow, to be who we really are and when your ready, a new perspective will help guide you out of the cold.  Thank you to the little green frog for your wisdom and perspective this morning.

Enjoy  Tracy xx
